On the 16th of May, a/c #42-29461, piloted by 1st LT Robert E. Nath, was up for a check flight. At approximately 1330 hours flying was called off because of approaching bad weather. The tower gave landing instructions for landing on runway 25 and at 1339, the plane was on final approach reporting, "wheels down and locked." The tower reports that visibility was decreasing and that they asked "how is your visibility?" The piot answered that it was about 1/2 mile, but that the runway was visible. Aircraft was permitted to land, making a very low approach and first touching wheels to ground about 150' from the end of the runway. The left landing gear struck a tree stump, weakening it to such an extendt as to cause it to fail completely when full weight of the aircraft was on it. The aircarft continued its roll up the runway, and onto the dirt off the runway. The increasing weight on the right landing gear as the plane pulled to the left caused this landing gear to buckle.
