an eighth Air Force bomber station, England --Above Technical Sergeant Bonner D. Wimberly, 23 year old engineer and top turret gunner of the B-17 flying fortress, "Blu Streak," checks one of the machine guns of the Fort.
     During a recent Eighth Air Force assault on oil refineries at Merseburg, Germany, he and his crew had their oxygen system shot away. By careful rationing and cooperation, they utilized the emergency walk-around bottles and made it safely back to England.
     Sgt. Wimberly is the son of Mrs. L. K. Reynolds, Phoenix, Arizona. Before entering the Army Air Forces in January, 1940, he was employed by Thornton Brother's Inc.
