The A-2 jacket became a canvas for many squadron artists. The artwork varied from comical to more risqué art, and normally matched the nose art of the crews aircraft. Often times the artwork on the jackets was prohibited, and sometimes for good reason. One crew had "Murder, Inc" painted on their jackets, which the Germans used for propaganda purposes when the crew was captured after being shot down.
