This is the same element, photographed again by #312, from the other side. The bomb bay doors are open; however, this photo is portrait is probably being staged, since #312 has moved to the opposite side of the lead element. Most likely the 486th is back over British soil. The aircraft top, right, is 8001:2S:S. She sports a cheyenne turret indicating a field mod for this aircraft. Also, note the placement of the waist window compared to the other later model "G" Fortresses.
