Royan, France, April 16, 1945. The smoke trails are caused by the smoker markers of the various lead aircraft. Due to wind shear, the smoke trails are not straight. however, the highly curved paths are probably a result of not symmetric thrust caused by the smoke emitting aparatus, making the smoke marker bomb rotate as they fall.
