We were not scheduled to fly (833rd) on that day [D-Day] so we where staying up late to play Blackjack when about 10:00 the Sargent came in and said to report for briefing A.S.A.P. We found out at briefing tomorrow was D-Day and we were to fly 3 missions that day. We took off early on first mission and the weather was bad .We flew at 12 thousand feet, and finally was able to hit our target and got home O.K. Little while later we took off on our second and as we were forming up the formation at alltitude we were informed that the mission was cancelled and we returned to base with our bombs and was later told that the third mission was cancelled. I checked my flight log and on June 6 we flew a mission that was 7:45 minutes long. Remember this 833 sq. Then it shows on June 7th we flew a mission that was 3:20 long and on June 8 we flew a mission that was 6: 35 long and then we did not fly the next day.
