The 486ers were treated to a tour of the George Rogers Clark Memorial in Vincennes, Indiana. George Rogers Clark is the older brother of the more famous William Clark who lead the famous Lewis and Clark expedition. The Battle of Vincennes, while small in scope, had profound implications for the future of the former British Colony. This battle extended the northern border of the nascent United States of America, and opened the way to expansion into the western territories. The hero of Vincennes would die a pauper. |
