"Dream King" 580:2S:P "Dream King" (also known as "Flak Sak") is being jacked up after making a belly landing on 3 Dec 1944. The ship would be lost a month late, suffering 4 KIA and 5 POW. On 3 Dec 44, 1st LT John Frazier and his crew took off in 44-6580, to fly a night transition cross-country flight. Upon returning to the field at approximately 0210 hours, the aircraft made a normal approach to land turning on landing lights on final approach. After landing, the aircraft rolled for about 50 to 100 feet then settled onto its underside and slid to a stop. The aircraft was severely damaged, but the crew exited the aircraft uninjured.
