Some weeks after this picture was taken in 945, Lamar Blow was killed by a turning B-17 propeller. While running up the engines, he left his cockpit position via the forward escape hatch to assist an armament man in putting out an engine fire. Ben Williams had just left the plane to return to the engineers shack when the accident occurred. |
