SGT Crews was an intelligence clerk, but requested, and was granted, a transfer to a combat air crew and became a gunner. On April 7th, 1945, SGT Crews was a replacement tail gunner on the Krenz crew when it was shot down. SGT Crews finished the war as a POW. |
