Bob and Martha met after the war. Like many vets, Bob didn't talk much of his experiences, let alone the name of the aircraft that he had flown. Martha had found a small bank sculpted as "The Worry Bird" from Lloyd Llewellyn's comic book character. Martha later learned that Bob flew a B17 named "The Worry Bird" and she dug out her bank to show what she had purchased in 1944.
