The 50 caliber round was just under 5.5" long, and a bit more than 8/10" wide at the base.  The bullet was 0.51" wide and had a muzzle velocity near 3,000 ft/minute.  400 rounds weighed about 37 lbs.  Times 12 guns: 444 lbs.
