P40 Warhawk The shark's mouth was a typical marking of the American Volunteer Group called the Flying Tigers. The P40 was no match for the Japanese Zero, but it's 50 caliber guns would cut one up if the Zero was caught by surprise. Superior tactics, and rugged construction gave the P40 big advantages.
