AN EIGHTH AIR FORCE BOMBER STATION, England--As Red Cross "Aero Club" director, Miss Jean L. St. Clair, of College Park, Md., plays "Back Home In Indiana", the quartet, (Left to right) Sergeant William C. Morris of Evansville, Staff Sergeant Robert D. Young of Connersville, Private Leonard Quinlan of Branchville, and club co-director Miss Mary Parsons of Bloomfield, gets ready to harmonize.
The photo was snapped at a recent celebration of "Indiana Night" at the Red Cross social club of this Eighth Air Force B-17 Flying Fortress base.
The soldiers are all members of the 486th Bomb. Group, commanded by Colonel Glendon P. Overing of Orange, Mass. The group is a unit of the Third Bombardment Division, the division cited by the President for its epic England-Africa shuttle bombing of the Messerschmitt Aircraft factories at Regensburg, Germany--first of its kind in the history of the AAF.
