SUBJECT: Station Commentaries.
TO : Base S-2, AAF Station 174, APO 559.
1. During the month of November, operations at the Control Tower were about the same as previous months. Due to unfavorable weather conditions at times there was a slight decrease in the number of non-operational flights. However there were over five hundred practice flights including bombing range missions and non-operational practice missions. 2. Lectures were delivered to the new crews on Flying Control in the United Kingdom by the Flying Control Officers. 3. Nothing new had been added to the Control Tower during the past month. The new Sodium Funnel lights were installed at the approach ends of runway 07/25. This installation was the only new addition to the field lighting facilities. Work is being started on the new High Intensity Lighting System, but it will be some time before this project is completed and ready for operations.
