MAJ John Charles Macgill, USAF (ret)

09APR21 — 22OCT09

Charlie was a friend to many, and a founding father of the 486th Bomb Group Association, Inc.  In his travels around the country he searched for former comrades-in-arms who might be interested in joining the association and sharing memories of a time significant to them all, and to our nation.  Charlie served as the Association commander from 1983 to 1984, and was cited by the Association for his dedication and hardwork.

Members of the 3rd Infantry Division perform caisson duties.  The USAF chaplains, band and firing squad performed all rites commensurate with a military funeral.  Charlie's priest (in the white surplice) from the Anglican Catholic Church in Christiansburg, VA, was the officiating member of the clergy.
