My grandfather served with the 486 and is a major reason I am an U.S. Army Apache pilot now stationed in Germany. My grandfather is not online and I am sure has no idea of this site i will relay him this info. Thanks for keeping the memory of the brave men that shed blood in defense of our country alive.

My grandfather was Lt. John F. Rivers. He was a lead bombadier in the 833rd. He was originaly on the Berry crew but shortly after arriving at Sudbury was transferred to another crew. Any info on him would be greatly appriciated.

My father Lt. Jordan Goldberg was a bombardier with Yochem's crew. I have been in touch with Robin ever since he started the site and I think he has done a great job updating the site and downloading our cherished family photos! Thank you to the great men of the era who have sacrificed their lives to keep the world free!

Would any one have any information on Robert ' Red' Chilton who was the Pilot of ' Red Raider ' B-17 flew out of Sudbury 835 sq. I believe Robert Chilton is still alive living in Texas. His Co-Pilot was William ' Tom' Mayfield. The Red Raider finished missions by flying ' Food' missions etc; to Holland. Would anyone know if these missions were flown from Sudbury base or were the crews and aircraft based somewhere else i.e Leicester area of England for these last missions in April / May 1945. I would be very grateful for any information you may be able to give me. By the way what an informative Site. Excellent.
