I am a daughter of George E. McNeice of the 486th Bomb Group/833rd Bomb Squadron. He served under CO Lionel (Lee) Cormier.
Dad passed away in 1978, but my sisters and I have a few items of memorabilia. Those interested in more information may contact me at sfiller*telestrategies.com or smfiller*att.net
This was a wonderful find. Thank you very much!
Great site ! I've got a lot of more information about the b-17's flying with the Mighty Eight.
I'm looking for anyone who knew my father, John A. Braun of Lockport, IL.
This is great. My father flew with the 486th and passed away recently. This sight is helping me understand what he went through during the war.
Thanks so much!

I am so glad that this website was developed. I tried about a year ago to obtain information on the internet about the 486th but there was nothing as detailed as this. My uncle, Nicholas D. Puglia, was KIA on 11/2/44(Paris crew/Bluestreak). He is buried in an American Veterans cemetery in Holland. On this website I was able to obtain the actual picture of my uncle's plane taking a hit over Merseberg, Germany which killed all on board. It brought tears to my and my father's eyes (Salvatore Puglia). My dad is now 73 years old and is the only surviving sibling of a family of five. Thank you for all your research and we will be sending a crew picture and other info. to help build and support the site.
I´m a 35 year old german and I´m very interested in aviation, especially of WW II. Therefore I´m in search of informations about shot down aircrafts, known or supposed crashsites and the destiny of the crews. Who can give me some informations, especially for the south of Germany ( between Stuttgart and the Lake of Constance, Munich and the French border ). Thanks a lot. Peter
Lt James Alvin Weir. Blonde hair. 6 ft 4". All American football player. Was based in the South of England during WW2, PLEASE does anyone know him or know of him. PLEASE contact me if you know ANYTHING. Thanks
A very informative, and helpful website, especially for the friends and families of veterans seeking information on relatives who were with the 486thBG. Your work is very much appreciated.
I really enjoy the work you have done here. My father was a B-17 pilot in the 486th. I am beginning to research his life during that time and your website has been invaluable.
If there are any members of the 486th out there who know my father (John J. McElroy, or "Mac" as I believe many called him), please contact me. I would love to hear from you.
My Grandfather was Capt John F.Rivers, who was a lead bombardier on Berry's crew. He flew 30 missions and then became asst. S-2, helping to train lead bombardiers until Feb 45 when he was transfered stateside. I am also very interested in seeing an original wartime patch of the 833rd. Any info would on my Grandfather or the insignia would be greatly welcome.
great information
I am the son of desceased Lt. William A Roberts who flew with Les Hull's crew in the 832nd. Would like to hear from crew members or relatives who knew crew. I have photos that need to have individuals identified for this website. Thanks in advance.
