What a great web site! I just e-mailed it to my father Thomas E. Kelly 2nd LT of the Harris Crew. He turns 80 this spring. I have read all his accounts in his scrap book, and his old letters home my grandmother saved, but this really puts it all together. We are very fortunate because we have both his verbal and written accounts of the time. With his permission I hope to share them with your association.

I am the niece of Ivan L. Briggs. Ivan was the 2nd Lt co-pilot of the "Lady from Hell" Goettel's crew 486th BS833rd. I would like to hear from anyone who knew my uncle and could share stories of him and photos as I am attempting to create a tribute album.

Hello,

I was hoping that you perhaps could direct me to someone/anyone that may have information of a pilot/navigator on the Picadilly Princess that carried a lace edged handkerchief with him on every flight... it was given to him by his wife/girlfriend and he carried it as a good luck charm.

Anyone you know that may know something about this? If so please feel free to write me at pamelaclax*yahoo.com

Thanks so :) Pamela

My father, Edward Laugherty, was a gunner in the 486th. He and my mother divorced when I was a baby and I never knew much about him. I have managed to locate his family and find out some information. If anyone remembers him or anything about him and wouldn't mind sharing information, please e-mail me. I do have a few pictures. This website is really nice. Thank you.

My Grandfather was in Lt. Belanger's crew, Dwayne Nelson. I am just so glad to see that you were able to gather pictures and different artifacts so we can see who these men were and to be greatful for what they did for our country. Thanks so much for the site, you don't know what it means that I can see my Grandfather's picture on this website. Thank you.

My brother, John W. Schmidt, was a member of Jarvis' crew. I was looking to see if I could find someone that would correcly spell his name on the info' contained in the web site. I am also looking for an article that was in the Boston Globe shortly after the last mission in which Jarvis was killed. It began something like this, "Flak, Fire, Snow, Crash nearly ended Cpl. Schmidt's career. A combination of Nazi flak and atrocious weather made a nightmare out of Cpl. John W. Schmidt's second trip into Germany...." etc

I'm trying to find any information you might have on Olin H. Medley (nose gunner). He only spoke briefly about his involvement with the daylight raids into Nazi Germany and I interested in knowing more about these historic flights. Thank you........Carol M. Medley Aljets

I am a 3rd cousin of 2nd Lt. George Woods Zellers who was killed with the crews of two B-24 bombers that collided over Phoenix/Tucson, AZ on Feb 18, 1944. His indentical twin brother (Paul) had George's 2nd Lt. bars and silver wings packed away since then (1944), and since Paul's death, Paul's widow has just given me these artifacts and dozens of letters, photo of 2nd Lt. in uniform, War Dept correspondance to their mother, Pampas Airfield material, pilot's log etc, etc. Are there any reunions held for the 486th and/or 835th. I would like to hear from ANYONE who knew my 3rd cousin. Greg Lawson, 71257 Adamsville Road, Edwardsburg, MI 49112 U.S.A. Very nice sight. I'm sure it would be appreciated by all who are mentioned therein. I used to play in a Lancaster Bomber when I was a child. The Bomber sat about 1 block from my home way back then. The US had Miltary personel stationed where I grew up. Very interesting sight.
