The number of men confined in the guard house during November was low, and less disciplinary action was necessary than any previous month. An effort is being made to cut down the number of Courts Martial by application of the 104th Article of War, both for officers and enlisted men.

The matter of interior guard duty is being pushed. The squadrons are called on to furnish a certain number of guards each night. It is believed that when we move to another theatre of operations, we will have to provide an active defense for our own base, and that guard duty here will provide practice and training for that time.

An effort is being made to reduce the large number of motor vehicle accidents. The drives to eliminate gasoline and vehicle mis-control, previously begun, have been continued during this month. There has also been a drive to get electrical appliances out of the living sites as the electric facilities are overloaded.

A representative of a London tailor comes to the Base once a week to take orders and measurements for battle jackets which are very popular, especially with flight officers. This permission is given to the firm in an effort to establish greater uniformity in this garment.

An order was received about the middle of November to turn in shelter halves, tent pins, ropes, canteens and covers and, in the case of officers, meat cans, knives, forks, and spoons. This following a previous order to turn in canvas overshoes for the troops in combat.
