       ATTENTION: Maj E. W. Reed, Chief Notification Branch,  Personal Affairs Division
 
  1. Sgt Oscar A. Deman, [serial number], was interrogated this date, by this section, who states to have no information whatsoever that would assist in regards to Second Lieutenant John S. Murphy.
     
  2. Sgt Demon concurs on the date of the mission being 10 April 1945 and that he knows of five (5) members of the crew who have been recovered and was told in a letter from his pilot, 1st Lt. Kenneth P. Dolan, that the four (4) missing members of the crew, Lt John S. Murphy, 2nd LT Kenneth E. Lamer, S/Sgt Jack K. Marks and Sgt Charles Sarockas (spelling of the last name uncertain) were taken prisoner uninjured by the Germans. Further than this, the Sergeant has heard nothing.
     
  3. Sgt Ralph Richard Covert, home address xxxxxxx, is believed to be at RS #2, Miami Beach, Fla., for processing for duty at this time. Sgt David W. Nicolette, home address xxxxxx, is also believed to be at RS #2, Miami Beach, Fla., for processing. These two men and Sgt Deman are the three men who are back in the United States.
     
  4. The other two, Lt. Dolan and Sgt Larry T. Maxim, home address xxxxxx, are the member of the crew whom he believes were recovered.
     
  5. Sgt Deman requests that he be notified at his home address, xxxxxx, should any information be known as to the four missing members of his crew.
