Following the war, the 486th dumped all items it didn't intend to return to the ZOI with. The pile of rubbish was burned, and resulted in the discoloration seen on the tags.

| These dog tags were recovered from the garbage dump located near the bomb dump. These tags, and others, were recovered by a local relic hunter. The above tags belonged to
