...just saw your Strike-Photo No.14 "unknown (Peccaro)" The 2nd photo below is shurely Hamburg/Germany. The lake top/left is devided by the railroad bridge into "Binnenalster & Aussenalster". Left/down is the harbor with "Landungsbruecken" & "St. Pauli"
btw. Why do you use "GR" as abbreviation for Germany ?! Usually GR is Greek. Germany is "GER" or "DE" Ralf
Would enjoy hearing from any 486ers, particularly from any in 833rd.

Sir's, My father Jack Edwin Brindle, was in your group. He was a bomsite speacilist, but have heard he flew also. I believe he was part of the 832 squad ,does anyone remember him? If so please e-mail me back. He past away when I was young and just tryin to know my father when he was in Sudbury. Respectfully, Mark J Brindle
My father was Otto J. Gempp.
I believe that the photo titled "Interior view of the Sudbury control tower. T/SGT Howard Dempsey at left, CAPT John Rumisek, S/SGT Robert Forsyth and CPL Leo Murray. (John Rumisek)" is actually a picture of my father, CPL George Weingarten and not S/SGT Robert Forsyht. My father also seems to think that the fourth man is not CPL Leo Murray. My father worked in the control tower and was in Sudbury from December 1943 until August 1945.

Robin. I got seven pictures put on CD Rom that I will be sending you. It is of the crew of my fathers plane, ground crew, The Roanoak Magician in flight, The Prowler in flight, B-17 at Sudbury, etc. I am trying to contact relatives of his old cre to properly identify each person in the photo. So far, I have contacted one of the crewmans spouses, so maybe that will lead to further ID's or other photos. Also I have located the photo of 005 with its tail section cut in half while still in flight. If I can wrestle it from my brother I will also send this to you. That was the plane my fater bailed out from on 9-27-44. Thanks, please send me you address so I can send you the CD Rom....Thanks again its a great site and tribute to the Greatest Generation....Bill
I live in Acton MA. 01720 Our so called sister city is Acton Village,Sudbury,England. As a member of our local government I visited and presented a plaque from our town to the local council of Acton. I was given a tour of the former airbase there and was taken to Lavenham for a tour of that area.
