I invite your attention to an article that I wrote and "published" on the Internet entitled "43-37910 - The Last Day of a B-17G." The article describes the final flight and predawn crash of Pilot Virgil Raddatz and crew (486th/832nd)as told by four then-surviving members of the crew. You will find the article at www.b-17g.com

Hi: I was a member of thre 486 bomb groop 832 squad I flew 35 missions over Germany as a tail guner. I just got back from the reunion in Columbus Ohio and injoyed it very much.
I have recently become acquainted with E. Jim Himel (Pilot). He told me about this web site, knowing I am very interested in WWII. Last year Jim and I were in a group that went to France. While in Rochefort, the deputy mayor recognized two of our group (Jim was one of them) and sincerely thanked them for their part in the liberation of France. It was a total surprise for Jim and all of our group. It was very touching for me to witness them being honored and remembered 57 years later. I am in awe of the courage shown by the fighting men during WWII. All those who went to war with the 486th are my heroes.
Might I please add that my grandad was the tailgunner on Umbriago in the 846th. He is S.Sgt Varyl P. Gannaway. Could you please add him to your lists, thankyou.
Great site. Our son-in-law found it and brought to our attention. My wife's dad was Capt. Edward A. Scheopner , pilot of the "Baby Robert". Seems he is mis-identified in picture as "Frank Scheopner " and his plane is "Goin Jesse". Any help on correcting this? Dad passed away last year and we're sure he would have enjoyed this site. Keep up the good work!!!
Excellent site! My father was a member of this fabulous outift. Kee[ up the good work!
Great Site! Keeping the memory of the WWII flyers is important. I have a site dedicated to my father, a ball turret gunner at the following address: http://www.cloudnet.com/~jfb/
THANK YOU, MY WIFE'S DAD (LT WILLIAM H RINGLER)WAS LISTED. WE GOT THE PHOTO, WAS THERE AN ARTICLE ON HIS MISSION?
What a thoughtful and well-done site. My dad, Euell E. ("Bill") Norris was a M/SGT and crew chief in the 833rd Bomb Squadron at Sudbury 1944-1945. Unfortunately, he passed away almost six years ago but I know he would have been thrilled to see this. If anyone knew my dad, I would love to hear from you. God bless you all.
Your site has been very helpful in researching the service of my grandfather. Thank you and God bless all who served and gave their lives for the freedom we now enjoy.
Have a great reunion!!!!Sorry we can't make it this year. GO BUCKEYES!!!!
I am the niece of Dominic Leuzzi who was with Lt. Dauenhauer's Crew. My uncle never spoke much about his experiences during the War, and I would like to be able to say hello to those who survived him.
He spoke fondly of the navigator, and I remember my uncle receiving letters from someone in Texas. He mentioned he was in his crew. But that is all I remember.
May God bless you all.
